Interesting story about the evil silliness of DRM

French publisher Hachette is fighting Amazon about prices and profit sharing of their books. Problem is, their insistence in have them DRM-locked was the proverbial petard that hoisted them: How Hachette made the rope that Amazon is hanging it with.

Although I don’t have any sympathy for Amazon in terms of the bullying practices they are adopting, I hope this works as a cautionary tale: DRM is stupid, doesn’t work, is a nuisance, and basically just creates problems, small and large.
