The knowledge industry (a shameless plug)

Lots of criticism has been leveled (correctly, in my view) at the pharmaceutical industry for its ethical shortcomings. A couple years ago I wrote a paper on how the publishing industry is part and parcel of this problem (in English, available here – for free).

Now it seems that more people are waking up to this problem:

George Monbiot, an acclaimed journalist from the Guardian: The Lairds of Learning (he published that as a column in the Guardian as well)

Michael Taylor, a researcher in the UK: Peers, review your actions

Harriet Washington, a researcher in the US: Flacking for Big Pharma

Now excuse me while I do my "I am ahead of the curve" dance. 🙂
