I’ve been watching – and enjoying – a French crime series called
“Profilage”. The second season ended with a cliffhanger and I’m eager
to see how the next season will begin (supposing I can still watch it
it; the local cable channel that is showing it has a record of showing
French TV series just enough to get one hung on them and then shoving
them off the grid. We’ll see).
Yesterday a TV critique column of a local newspaper mentioned the
series and referenced how much it reflected a French character in
general. And then it went on to mangle the first name of one of the
main characters (Matthieu, who became “Matthew”), and worse still, the
actor who plays him, who became “William” instead of Guillaume
(Cramoisan). Vraiment français, eh?
